Minnesota Pump N Run is a newly-formed youth basketball program, created in partnership with Double Pump, Inc. based in Northridge, California and Adidas Grassroots Basketball, based in Portland, Oregon.
The Minnesota Pump N Run program intends to identify and pursue the top youth basketball players in the State of Minnesota. The goal is to field extremely competitive teams to help increase the visibility of Minnesota basketball at the national level.
Additional program objectives include:
- Individual player development;
- Exposure to high level national competition;
- College scholarship opportunities and exposure.
Minnesota Pump N Run will field three teams for the 2012-13 season. The program will have one team in the 17/U, 16/U and 15/U divisions. In future years the program may elect to form additional teams.
Minnesota Pump N Run teams will be coached by experienced and talented individuals who exhibit outstanding teaching, communication and leadership skills. Coaches will generally have extensive college, high school or AAU coaching experience. All coaches will be required to acknowledge and sign a “Code of Conduct and Ethics” statement prior to coaching in the program. All coaches in the program will have the athlete‘s well-being in mind at all times and will be expected to be mentors as well as instructors.
Minnesota Pump N Run teams will play a rigorous tournament schedule that emphasizes competition against the top youth teams nationally. The program will also place a high emphasis on participation in high-profile events that are heavily attended by college coaches.
The Minnesota Pump N Run program also intends to host three high profile events in order to raise the visibility and profile of the organization.
The program has recently created its own college scouting service named the “Midwest Cage Report”. This service is intended to provide exposure opportunities for all Minnesota players.
